It now looks like the ever-popular Stranger Things has become the new television show to halt its production during the COVID-19 pandemic. At this point, the real news seems to be if a television show or movie production actually stays open and running during this time.
Netflix has announced that not only has Stranger Things halted production but that every Netflix show filming inside the U.S. or Canada is suspended for the next two weeks. The production state of shows like The Witcher, which are currently shooting outside of the United States is being evaluated on a case-by-case basis. It will be interesting to see how Stranger Things 4 will cope with the setback, especially as Netflix had already released a teaser of a certain character hiding out in Soviet Russia to build up excitement, but this show has a strong enough fanbase that I’m sure no one will forget by the time Stranger Things 4 finally premieres. If anything, this will just make the waiting sweeter.
So if you’ve been out of the loop with what’s been going on in the weird little town of Hawkins, Indiana, now may be the perfect time to catch up while you’ve got a head start on the show, because it looks like we may be here for a while, so we’ll need all the content we can get.
