The Tohill brothers are bringing us back to Texas.
Ryan and Andy Tohill have signed on to direct the latest reboot of Texas Chainsaw Massacre. This will be the duo’s second feature-length film, following their work on the 2018 thriller The Dig.
Tobe Hooper first introduced fans to the now-infamous Leatherface back in 1974. Three sequels followed. The movie saw its first remake in 2003, which spawned three new additions to the franchise, the last of which was released to a lukewarm reception in 2017.
Legendary Entertainment showed an early interest in Texas Chainsaw Massacre when the rights went up for grabs in late 2018. The company hopes to revive the franchise with this reboot, produced by Fede Alvarez (Evil Dead) with a script by Chris Thomas Devlin.
Plot details have yet to be revealed, and Legendary has not yet revealed an anticipated release dead. This film will be the ninth in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre saga.
